Westlands 9 Northwest Fire 2
First Half - Northwest Fire played their first full match against Westlands from the East Cheshire Sunday League. The first half was an even contest and the Fire took the lead when Walsh's long range shot found its way into the net with the keeper at fault. The Fire got their passing game going and were more than a match for their opponents and soon found themselves 2-0 up when a Lukoschek long ball found Bramley out wide. Bramley took control of the ball and moved in to score with a well taken goal. Westlands came roaring back and reduced the deficit with a header from a corner. A goal line clearance from Green preserved the lead and the Fire went in 2-1 up at the break.
Jamie Bramley put the Fire 2-0 up

Second Half - Westlands bossed the game in the second half as a combination of know how and fitness proved too much for an inexperienced Fire side. The Fire rarely strung passes together as they looked a totally disjointed team in the second half and Westlands took advantage to plunder goals to give them a somewhat flattering 9-2 win. The match, although ending in an embarassing result, was a great work out and should prove invaluable as the Fire step up their preperations and training. Bramley was unlucky in the second half to see a spectacular goal ruled out for a minor infringement although full marks should go to the referee who had a splendid match.
