First
Half - Injuries decimated the Fire squad and it was a patched up,
walking wounded, side that took to the pitch. In the first half the
Fire played with a man short and the experimental side lacked cohesion.
Despite passing the ball around well the Fire were chasing shadows
when the Tigers had the ball and the Tigers seemed to be able to score
at will racing into a 4-0 lead. The Fire battled back superbly though.
NWF's captain, Dave Barnes, reduced the arrears following a scramble
from a corner and Lee Knott's fine finish made it 2-4 at half time.

Second
Half -The Fire 'borrowed a player' in the second half and looked a
bit more solid at the back. The next goal looked to be crucial and
it was the Tigers who got it. At 5-2 down the Fire still continued
to play well and got a 3rd through their borrowed player. A late 6th
was harsh on Fire who despite having a patched up side played some
very good football.
