High
Lane B v Northwest Fire |
ECSFL
League Match Game 2 |
|
First Half: |
|
| The Fire were poor from start to finish and looked woeful at the back. High Lane B tore the Fire side apart although the Fire's inability to pass or control the ball led to a lot of the problems. The only surprise was that the Fire held out for as long as they did but eventually High Lane's class superiority told and they scored twice before half time. | |

Second Half: |
| The Fire briefly threatened to turn this into a contest as they started the second half brightly and were unlucky when Lee Knott wasted an opportunity to reduce the arrears. As the half wore on High Lane again got the upper hand andwent 3-0 up. A disastrous own goal from Simon Hallows, having probably his worst game in a Fire shirt, made it 4-0 before Dave Barnes pulled one back with a headed goal. Slack marking from the Fire Player Manager allowed High Lane to grab a fifth just before the end. |
